Very itchy and dry skin with 1 – 2 mm red bumps that come off as red scabs and heal fast. The skin does not weep and tends to bleed when scratched. Other symptoms can include considerable restlessness, especially at night when the itch is the worst. Thirst is also frequent. |

4. Spleen deficiency with dampness PI QU XU + SHI |
The skin is rough, dry and swollen, with pale patches on the body that often return. Weak constitution, pale appearance, fatigue, flatulence, lack of appetite, soft stools. |

5. Blood deficiency with wind and dryness XUE XU + FENG + ZAO |
Chronic returning eczema that lasts years, the skin is dry, rough and like lichen, with typical pale red areas of eczema. Overall weak constitution, there may also be dry stools, dry hair, splitting fingernails, weak period in women, who also feel “lifeless”. |
