3. Heat in the blood with heart fire generates wind RE XUE + XIN HUO + FENG

Very itchy and dry skin with 1 – 2 mm red bumps that come off as red scabs and heal fast. The skin does not weep and tends to bleed when scratched. Other symptoms can include considerable restlessness, especially at night when the itch is the worst. Thirst is also frequent.

1. damp type SHI/RE with dominant damp SHI

Red eczema on cheeks and nape, followed by papules and blisters with discharge that dries into crusts which reveal red skin when peeled off; typically also severe itching, restlessness and sleeplessness.

2. dry type SHI/RE with dominant heat RE

Light or dark red eczema on head and cheeks with rough and dry skin, accumulation of papules, crusts, scales, strong itching, visible signs of scratching, minimal number of blisters.
